Meet Our Founder: Watini Gloria Murekatete

📍 From Refugee to Advocate

"My journey began as a refugee in Uganda, where I lived for over 6 years. Facing the challenges of displacement, hunger, and limited access to education, I developed a deep passion for humanitarian work and refugee advocacy. Today, as the Founder & Executive Director of The Gloria Foundation, I am committed to ensuring that no refugee is left behind."

🎓 Education & Expertise:
  • Associate of Science in Criminal Justice & Liberal Arts (Political Science concentration) – Monroe Community College (MCC), 2022

  • Bachelor of Science in Philosophy & Political Science – SUNY Brockport, 2024

  • Master’s Degree in International Affairs (In Progress) – University at Albany’s School of Public Administration and Policy

🤝 Community Engagement & Leadership:
  • Board Member – New Hope for MarketView Heights (NH4MVH) Project

  • Active Member – New Hope Free Methodist Church

  • Languages Spoken: Kinyarwanda, Kiswahili, French, English
